State-of-the art research on assessment and grading shows how traditional practices not only produce low yields, but frequently inhibit motivation and academic growth. This session will provide principals with the research and tools that allow them to explode the myth of the zero, address the tyranny of averaging, and illustrate how to grade for learning. Participants will leave with concrete tools that inform assessment, increase learning, and build student ownership in their own progress.
