CSSR is proud to announce that we will be collaborating with The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) for the Breaking Ranks™ 2009 Secondary School Showcase, as part of the NASSP Annual Convention, February 27 – March 1, 2009 in San Diego, CA. The Secondary School Showcase will take place on Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 8:30a – 4:00p.

16 Secondary Schools from across the nation have been selected to present stories of successful implementation of Breaking Ranks II™ and Breaking Ranks in the Middle™ strategies and techniques during the one-day Showcase.

This unique and highly informative professional development opportunity will feature school leaders, teachers, students, and administrators from some of the nation’s top middle and high schools. NASSP and CSSR invite all educators to come and listen to REAL LIFE stories of secondary school redesign initiatives, and student personalization programs.

The Showcase at the NASSP Annual Convention replaces the pre-Convention workshops and school visits that have taken place in the past. The Showcase will assemble teams of educators and students from a wide variety of backgrounds to share programs successful in improving 21st century student-centered learning.

The Secondary School Showcase does require pre-registration to attend, and anyone interested can visit the NASSP Convention website at www.nasspconvention.org or contact Jay Midwood, CSSR director of communications & student involvement. NASSP will handle all registration aspects of this showcase. Information on housing, travel, agendas, and selected schools will all be released in the fall of 2008.

 Hot Topics & Cold Ice Cream     3:15 p.m.–4:00 p.m.

Who Should Attend:       All secondary school administrators, teachers, students,
                                          team leaders, and anyone who is passionate about student success!

Registration Fee:

$170.00 per person
$150.00 per person for a team of THREE or more people from the same school.


* Please note that the registration fee for the Secondary School Showcase is SEPARATE from the registration fee for the actual Convention.
